Lockdown Licks no.149. ‘ I Wanna Be Adored’ by The Stone Roses. As the Fools Gold riff is proving popular to listeners, I decided to post this one too!
Includes signature riff, semitone bend riffs and chordal bridge riff. Played on a Stratocaster on bridge pick up through a NUX M8 amp. This was set to ‘superlead’ with reverb, 20% chorus and analogue delay set to the tempo. This produces a ‘spaced out’ sound whilst retaining a rock guitar edge. This kind of sound showcases the skill of John Squire, the Stone Roses guitarist as being able to create a ‘hippy’ type vibe which still has rock guitar at its core.
‘I Wanna Be Adored’ is the first song on the highly acclaimed Stone Roses debut album from 1989. The album influenced the direction of rock and popular music for years to come.
