Lockdown Licks 183.
“Diddy Wa Diddy” by Blind Blake.
LL ‘singalong’ with Blues/Jazz ‘comping’ Rhythm, single note riffs and a number of verses of singing. The original had 6 or 7 verses. Played on the lemon drop HB35 with the mid pup setting (using both humbuckers) into a NUX M8 amp on clean channel with slight reverb. When I first heard it via Ry Cooders excellent version from his “Paradise and Lunch” album it really summed up the blues, with a generous dollop of humour not always associated with blues it was truly funny. Blake was really onto something when he recorded it in 1929.
