Lockdown Licks no. 260. “Get Over It” by Eagles. Glen Frey Intro solo and 1st Lead Break. Played on a Telecaster into a NUX M8 amp set to ‘superlead’ with maximum “stadium in your dining room” reverb.ππ
If critics doubted Glen Frey and the Eagles would be able to re create their legendary blues & rock roots chops on their return in 1994, Glen Frey let’s rip on his Telecaster & opens the Hell Freezes Over album with a couple of larger than life, pure slices of blues and rock lead.β₯οΈπΈ
I miss Glen Frey not least for his genius part in writing and singing all those Eagles classics, but also for his “no nonsense”, cut to the good stuff ‘guitar slinger’ blues rock riffs and skills.ππΈ
Also his sense of humour, on announcing to the audience on their return, “just for the record, we never split up, we just took a 14 year vacation.” Priceless!π
RIP brother.πβ₯οΈπΈ
Get Over It” is a song by the Eagles released as a single after a fourteen-year breakup. It was also the first song written by bandmates Don Henley and Glenn Frey when the band reunited. “Get Over It” was played live for the first time during their Hell Freezes Over tour in 1994. It returned the band to the U.S. Top 40 after a fourteen-year absence, peaking at No. 31 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. It also hit No. 4 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks chart. The song was played live by the Eagles on the “Hell Freezes Over” tour in 1994. It remains the group’s last Top 40 hit in the U.S.
