Steel Guitar Rag was recorded in the 1930s by Bob Wills & His Texas Playboys in their famous Western swing style of country music started in the late 1920s. This country instrumental has been loved and recorded by many artists over the years. Writer Leon McAuliffe was a prolific western swing guitarist in the 1930s. He was inducted into the Rock n Roll hall of fame as a member of the Texas Playboys.
