Lockdown Licks no. 370.
Ain’t Got A Dollar by Oliver Anthony.
Chord picking and first line sung.
Played on an HB35+ guitar into a NUX M8 with minimal reverb.
Here I play it using standard tuning. C chord with G note fretted on top string followed by E/E7 then F. He may play it in Eb / G tuning with capo.
This guy with no promo, no manager, and no record label has taken the music world by storm with the songs on his channel. His jaw-dropping song “Rich Men North of Richmond” is instantly a worldwide anthem. “Ain’t Got A Dollar’ is another of his songs which will also go on to become an anthem for ordinary people.
Oliver Anthony with his Gretsch resonator guitar, woodland backdrop, and ol’ dogs at his side.
“Representing” all the disenfranchised folk in the ‘new’ world, worldwide. All the rich men north of Richmond & Westminster & worldwide better listen up good!
Politicians of any type, shouldn’t try to stick their half-assed political gainsaying on this guy, he ain’t having any of that!
I believe his music is much deeper, more profound and unifying than their tired political rhetoric.
I hope he takes that reported $8 million record deal offered, as I’m sure he will put the money to good use.
