Lockdown Lick 167
Lockdown Licks no.167.
“LLs Jazzy 335” part 1.
Played on a Tele through a Marshall
MG series 10 amp on clean channel.
Marshall and Tele not very famous for jazz of course!
I put this Jazzy turnaround together
to play on my 335 style guitar when it arrives!
Some folk ask which chords I use or which key I’m in on Lockdown Iicks.
Well..this is in B flat.
Jazz players often use the 2/5/1 chord turnaround.
So I used C minor, an extension of F7 before reaching the “1” chord Bb and ending on the jazzy sounding B flat major 7. I used several 4 note variations of the 3 chords on the ‘rising’ chord section and a number of melodic jazz/blues riffs to add melody to the chords.
I will hopefully do a Part 2 of this riff when my 335 style guitar arrives to see if it sounds much more jazzy on a semi acoustic with humbuckers!!
Thanks as always for listening to Lockdown Licks.
