Lockdown Lick 184
Lockdown Licks no.184. “LL’s Too Jazz for Country-Too Country for Blues-Stroll.” (LL’s Original)
Played on an HB35+ semi acoustic into the NUX M8 on clean channel with a touch of reverb.
Using a Lekato looper pedal, I play a classic jazz 2/5/1 chord rhythm progression
Em7,Am7,DMAJ7 with a D7/9 chord used on occasion for a ‘Jazz’ effect. For the lead ‘overdub’ I found mixing major and minor pentatonic scale riffs with half tone bends, rakes and double stop riffs blended well. Also using a longer chromatic “signature riff”, gives the tune a jazz/blues/country feel.
I am definitely/maybe planning on adding some lyrics I have written for a possible collaboration with a vocalist I know, and a ‘strictly brushes only’ drummer percussionist.
