Lockdown Lick 186

Lockdown Lick

Lockdown Licks no. 186. “LL’s Gimouresque Division Solo.”

Played on a MIJ Fender Stratocaster with Kayler Spyder Floating Tremelo into a NUX M8 amp set to ‘metal’ with heavy analogue delay set to tempo.

David Gilmour from Pink Floyd is one of the greatest rock guitarists of our times. Solos on songs like ‘Money’, ‘Time’ and ‘Shine On’, ‘The Wall PT 2’ were jaw dropping and cemented his legendary status. He uses delay, distortion, sustain, subtle whammy bar and string bends applied to carefully crafted blues riffs and chords, to create a ‘larger than life’ guitar sound, floating on a steel string breeze.πŸ˜‚ His playing was even more prolific during the Pink Floyd 90s era and on the ‘Division Bell’ album, which my 30 second solo is heavily influenced by.🎸
