Lockdown Licks no.190. “Miss You” by The Rolling Stones -signature riff. A heavier version than original, I like to think more like ZZ Top may have done it.
Played on an HB35+ with a looped recording playing the main riff on D and G strings with chord notes using humbucker mid position with split pick up on bridge. The riff is then played over this twice with full humbuckers selected, an octave higher, on B and top E strings.
Miss You was a successful song blending disco with rock from the Stones 1978 album ‘Some Girls’ and includes a sax solo, Bill Wyman’s funky disco bass line, harmonica as well as Keith and Ronnie playing guitar.
