Lockdown Lick 21

Lockdown Licks no.21

“Bitch” by The Rolling Stones. Signature Riff, chorus chords D,G,A,B,E and brief riffing in style of the solo, Signature Riff to end. Played on my Gibson Junior-see photo, with ‘overdrive’ setting on amp, gain backed off to 6. Original played by Keith Richards on an Armstrong Plexiglass guitar. Allegedly, Keef arrived at studio hours late, unkempt, no shoes on, with a hangover. Jagger& Taylor were playing A&D chords in a really slow dirge going nowhere. Keef apparently made himself a bowl of cornflakes and sat on the studio kitchen floor chowing away like a spare one!😁 Suddenly he said, ‘oi Andy’ to the engineer, ‘plug me in and pass a guitar please.’ He proceeded to play the Signature riff seemingly created on the spot. Mr Riffard indeed! The rest is history.

“Bitch” is a song by the English rock band the Rolling Stones from their 1971 album Sticky Fingers. Not issued as a single but has garnered major airplay from rock radio stations.

Yes I am wearing a Stone’s Tee shirt! If you look above the 12th fret on the guitar you can see Micks head bobbing up n down!
