Lockdown Lick 267
Lockdown Licks no. 267. “Kid Charlemagne” by Steely Dan.
Played on a Telecaster into a NUX M8 amp set to metal with slight reverb.
Original played by Larry Carlton. On nearly every solo I play on Lockdown Licks I am asked if I can break it down into the separate riffs for people to learn. This proved popular on the ‘Whole Lotta Love” solo. So I’ve done it here with Kid Charlemagne. One of the greatest and also most difficult to play solos in rock history with 12+1 licks to learn!
