Lockdown Lick 282
Lockdown Licks no. 282.
In this riff I’m practicing ‘lap steel’ style, a different technique from standard guitar, on a standard guitar.
Part 1 “The Great Gig In The Sky” by Pink Floyd. Original played by David Gilmour on a lap steel guitar. Using a Stratocaster in a D,G,D,G,B,E tuning, low to high strings. The amp is a NUX M8 on clean with a slow frequency analogue delay. I am playing “lap steel” style, with the guitar flat across the knees. I use the 3 finger grip for lap steel using my old Dunlop tapered bottleneck on the slide hand. Part 2 will be this riff played on a lap steel guitar using a ‘tone bar’. I have both arriving in the mail soon. Hope to be playing some more riffs on it too!
‘Great Gig’ surely needs no introduction. From the timeless Pink Floyd album Dark Side of the Moon 1973 , hugely popular, it is still selling copies to this day!
