Lockdown Licks no. 317. “Casino Boogie” by The Rolling Stones.
Keith Richards intro and chord rhythm. Played on a butterscotch Telecaster tuned to open G with capo at fret 2 and bass E not used as per Keith style. Using a NUX M8 amp set to ‘classic’ with gain on 7 and slight reverb. Several guitar overdubs accompany this main rhythm part throughout the original.
Casino Boogie” is a song by English rock band the Rolling Stones, from their 1972 album, Exile on Main St. Written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, it was recorded at Villa Nellcote, Richards’ home in the South of France. The song has an insistent blues boogie rhythm. Jagger’s famous drawl with Richards’ prominent backing vocals along with Bobby Keys’ saxophone solo are other features of the track.
Another hidden gem from the Dartford duo, apparently written using cards with random phrases on chosen at random to make up the lyrics. Somehow it seems to make some kind of sense?
