Guitar solo played on a Fender Stratocaster set on neck pick up. NUX mighty 8 Amp set on ‘classic’ with gain backed off to 6, in the style of Jimi Hendrix.

From the “Are You Experienced” album, the single, backed by “Highway Chile”, was released in the UK in May 1967 and reached number six on the UK Singles Chart.

“The Wind Cries Mary” is a rock ballad written by Jimi Hendrix.

According to his then girlfriend, Kathy Etchingham’s, account, he wrote the lyrics after an argument with her, using Mary her middle name. In a later interview, Hendrix commented that the lyrics represent “more than one person”.
