Lockdown Lick 356

Lockdown Lick

Lockdown Licks no.356. “In My Life” by the Beatles.

George Harrison intro/outro riffs, played on a Strat intro a NUX M8 amp on clean with a little chorus. Sometimes simplicity is beautiful. The riffs include a two string hammer on and brief chord rake to begin and bookend the tune. Of note is the piano player and producer George Martin who played a Bach inspired classical piano solo, although it was recorded on half speed tape which when played back normally was in time and octave higher to fit in key with the Beatles! It has a sound akin to a harpsichord piano!😂

“In My Life” is a song by the English rock band the Beatles that appeared on their 1965 album Rubber Soul. It was written primarily by John Lennon and credited to Lennon–McCartney. George Martin contributed the piano solo bridge.

According to Lennon, “In My Life” was his “first real major piece of work” because it was the first time he wrote about his own life.

In 2000, Mojo named “In My Life” the best song of all time. Rolling Stone ranked it number 23 on its 2004 list of “The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time”, and number 98 on the 2021 revised list, as well as fifth on its list of the Beatles’ “100 Greatest Songs”.
