Lockdown Lick 362

Lockdown Licks no. 362 “In The Mood”. Having a bit of fun here 🎸🎉with this laid back, rocky overdriven guitar arrangement of signature riffs from this jazz standard in G#. Signature riffs & chordal riffs played on a butterscotch Telecaster into a NUX M8 amp set to “overdrive”, gain backed off to 50% with reverb, tone & volume dials on Telecaster at about 7.5. The playability of this Telecaster makes for smooth transitions for hammer on riffs, with controlled tone from the Teles lipstick neck pick up combined with the classic tube like “overdrive” setting on the Mighty 8 amp.

“In the Mood” is a popular “big band”-era jazz standard recorded by American bandleader Glenn Miller. “In the Mood” is based on the composition “Tar Paper Stomp” by Wingy Manone. The first recording under the name “In the Mood” was released by Edgar Hayes & His Orchestra in 1938.
