Lockdown Licks no. 387 Pan Am Highway Blues by ZZTOP. In style of intro & main chords/riffs.Playing open C, A/Asus4,E5 & start/end picking riff on bass/open strings.

The song is track 2, side 2 of the album Tejas a favourite of mine. Surely one of the band’s most eclectic albums.
Pan Am Highway Blues is a perfect example, effortlessly blending a road/love song, overdriven guitar rock with country, blues, rock n roll, brilliant vocal harmonies, Dusty Hills deep & powerful bass & funky rock drumming by Frank Beard (the one with no beard), all in the same song!
“Tejas” is the fifth studio album by the American rock band ZZ Top. It was released in late November 1976, on the London label. The title is a Caddo language word meaning “friends”, which is the origin of the name of the band’s home state, Texas.
