Lockdown Licks no. 85
“Hotel California” Lead solo. Don Felder section/Joe Walsh 12th fret bend/release lick to end.
Played on a Telecaster using bridge pickup, volume 8,tone 5.
NUX amp on ‘superlead’ with a little reverb.
I may try the dual harmony guitar part on a looper one day.
To me it is a truly amazing solo with Felder/Walsh blending their beautiful playing together in the 2nd half!
“Hotel California” is the title track from the Eagles’ album of the same name and was released as a single in February 1977.Writing credits for the song are shared by Don Felder (music), Don Henley, and Glenn Frey (lyrics). The Eagles’ original recording of the song features Henley singing the lead vocals and concludes with an extended section of sublime electric guitar interplay between Felder and Joe Walsh.
